Mrs Bear's daughter, Ali, has come to New Zealand for a holiday. She spent a day at Cockle Day teaching us some Spanish language, pronunciation and some simple greetings.
We also learned a little of about the Spanish culture by dressing up as signorettas, role playing bull fights and learning a traditional Spanish dance. We will perform the dance in front of the school at our Weka Assembly on Friday.
After lunch we selected tapas from the tapas bar, instead of our usual brain food break. We could choose from la albondiga (meatballs in spicy tomato) and tortilla (a kind of potato omelette). We used a crispy slice of bread like a little plate with a toothpick to keep our tapas from falling off.
