Robot Rumpus

The Elephants read the play, Robot Rumpus, in School Journal 2000.  Then everyone chose a character, and after some practising, they performed the play to the class.  We all enjoyed it, and everyone REALLY enjoyed the ending . . .  when Kate lost her Dad's wig!

Oh dear . . . what happened to the Dad wig?

Rainbow Writing

The Lions read the article,  'Rainbow Writing' in Junior Journal 24.  Then they followed the instructions to do their own rainbow writing.

PIne Cone Pals

The Giraffes read the article, 'Pine Cone Pals' in Junior Journal 36.  Then they followed the instructions to make their own pine cone pals using hot glue guns, pine cones, pop sticks and other materials.

Dimitri's Lunch

The Zebras read the book, Dimitri's Lunch, and then they made their own sandwiches with lettuce, tomato and feta cheese.  Everyone found them delicious, just like Dimitri and his school mate.

Doubles

The Loop the Loops made doubles with unicubes and wrote down each number sentence.  Look on the Maths page to see all the towers they made using doubles.

Ocean in a Bottle

For SeaWeek, we made an ocean in a bottle.  We poured oil, water and food colouring into a plastic bottle.  We found that the oil and water would not mix, however hard we shook the bottle.  This allowed us to make waves that looked just like surf on the beach.

Cockle Bay News

Everyone watches the Cockle Bay News every Friday.  When it was Year 3's turn to make news items, Room 18 made a video about looking after our tadpoles.

Maths About Me

Everyone made a 'Maths About Me' poster.  We learned how to weigh ourselves on bathroom scales in Kilograms and now to measure our height in centimetres.  Look on the Maths page or on the Maths wall in Room 18 to see them all.
